Niche UK carmaker Virago Cars is prepping a new version of its sports coupe for the upcoming Top Marques auto show in Monaco in the hope that it will attract potential investors and customers. Designed to compete with the likes of Noble and TVR, the new model is estimated to cost about $100,000 and will be built along the lines of Virago’s current model pictured above.

The new car features a lightweight body shell and is powered by a 3.0L Ford Duratec V6 with around 230-280hp. This should see it reach 60mph form rest in less than five seconds and go on to reach a top speed of 150mph.

Virago Cars is headed by a former Land Rover executive and currently only sells one model. To see the new car enter production, Virago needs to raise more than $10 million, so expect to see the new coupe at a string of other auto shows including this year’s Autosport International in the UK.
