More evidence confirming the development of a new IS coupe has emerged with news today Lexus has registered a number of new names for the forthcoming model range with U.S. and Canadian patent and trademark offices. The new coupe will carry a ‘C’ designation tagged onto the end of the coinciding sedan model name, starting with a new IS250C, followed by the IS300C and IS350C.
The inclusion of the new IS300C also reveals Lexus is planning the introduction of a new model in between the current IS250 and IS350. According to my.IS, this could mean the introduction of the 3GR-FSE V6 engine from the GS300 sold in Japan and a number of other markets.
There was also no register of the ‘CC’ moniker, which would suit a new coupe-cabrio version with a folding hardtop that has been spotted testing recently.
Pictured above is the special edition IS250X sedan launched in Australia, which went on sale earlier this year in a limited run of just 450 units.

Wow! I am looking forward to the launch. I hope the car’s lines are graceful on the stock model and the ISFc variant, as I’m looking forward to placing my order. Lex|Life
yeah,.. i’ve seen some really interesting looking concepts of this car in a 2 door coupe hard top convertible,… looks really interesting. just wish you could get the stick on the 350. unfortunately, its only available on the 250. mind you I wouldnt want any more car than the 250 ANYWAYS.. but I hope for their sake they make a stick available on the 300
oh, and the 250 comes with AWD, only in the automatic though. no AWD for the 350… does that make any sense? the day ford makes a mustang GT without a stick………..
lexus is proving how to make luxury cars sexy !!
