Updated: Dodge Challenger number 43 has gone under the electronic hammer for $228,143.43, making it the second most expensive Challenger to be sold yet after the first SRT8 model fetched $400,000 at last month’s Barrett-Jackson. The car features a unique B5 Blue paint scheme and all proceeds from its sales will go to aid the Victory Junction Gang Camp youth charity.

Original: A baby blue Dodge Challenger SRT8 is set to be auctioned off on eBay next month as part of a cross promotional charity event being run by Chrysler and the Victory Junction Gang Camp charity organization. This is car number 43 to come off the production line, the odd number representing the old racing number of Mopar legend Richard Petty and leaving a connection between the car and Kyle Petty’s Victory Junction Gang charity.

This will be the only Challenger SRT8 to be painted in the B5 Blue color scheme so there should be some interesting bids. You may recall that Challenger number one went under the hammer at the Barret-Jackson auctions last weekend for an amazing $400,000.

The all-new 2008 Dodge Challenger SRT8 features the familiar 6.1L HEMI V8 engine mated to a five-speed automatic transmission, a race-inspired interior and an exterior design that picks up many retro cues from the original muscle cars of yesteryear. The final production models, both the standard version and the performance SRT8 car, will be making their worldwide debut on the 6th of next month. In the meantime, you can head over to eBay and check out the auction page.

I’m still waiting for the one painted like the General Lee… :)

I really like the look of this car, even more so than the Camaro.

But I just can’t wait to see this car, the Camaro and a GT500 Mustang all lined up together, what a reunion of the musclecar. I know they’re outdated, I know they’re archaic, I know they burn gas, maybe this is the last time cars like this will be around…

General Lee was a Charger, not Challenger, although a Vanishing Point Challenger would be awesome, CHOOSE WHITE!

I knew someone would bring that up.
    Who gives a *%@!?
The “Charger” was built as a lame 4 door, so that was already ruined.
This is as close to the General Lee as we’re ever going to see…

Now all GM should do now to complete tis is bring back the GTO , base it on the Camaro, and make it more retro to make it compete more with the challenger
cause remember, the GTO was one of the original muscle cars
