The addition of the new EfficientDynamics allows the Z4 range to achieve a reduction in fuel-consumption with most of the reduction attributable to the installation of a new friction-optimized rear axle transmission in the six-cylinder variants.
This will be the last major update for the Z4 range until the all-new model arrives in early 2009. BMW will be positioning the new model into a higher price point, converting the car into a coupe-convertible with a folding metal hardtop in the process.
