Ford’s European Focus family was recently given a midlife facelift and to spruce things up further the top-end cabrio model is also now available in a limited ‘Black Magic’ trim. Like the previous Fiesta edition, the new model will be limited to just 1,500 examples and is available with either a 145hp 2.0L petrol unit or a 136hp turbodiesel.

Differentiating the car from the regular fleet is the unique ‘Panther Black’ metallic paint, 17in alloy wheels powder-coated in black, new front fog lights with chrome detailing, tinted headlights, and unique front and rear bumpers.

The car also sports tinted glass, aluminum trim on the center console and leather cladding for the steering wheel and gearshift knob as well as MP3-compatible audio system with Bluetooth. Other features include custom floor mates, electrically adjustable and heated mirrors and performance tires. The car official goes on sale next month and is priced from €28,100.

Looks like a fun little car. One that’s not available here, of course.

Why are European Fords so cool and North American Fords so boring and ugly? Seriously, they totally underestimate North American tastes. Europe gets stuff like this and we get snooze-worthy rubbish like the 500 (renamed Taurus). The only Ford here with a pulse is the Mustang.

ok woah woah woah… gus, if you want this car go to the volvo dealer and get the C70. same car. and it wouldnt have been any cheaper if there was a ford logo on it.

and that 500/taurus that you call rubbish is an S80. if ford were to ask 2x more for it, people would be tripping over each other to buy the stupid thing. that being said, the 2010 taurus promises to be awesome, judging from the spy shots.

Really? I did not know they were the exact same car.
Well, I still think they would get far more exposure if they were available in every Ford showroom, which are far more common and visited than Volvo showrooms.
And this little car looks like fun, the Volvo just doesn’t have that image, I guess…
I agree the Taurus is boring, but it’s a good car. Most full size FWD 4 door sedans are pretty boring, but it’s a good car to drive, and for the price, darn near unbeatable.
