Volkswagen previews future vehicle design with 2028 concepts

Volkswagen has launched a new microsite (www.Volkswagen2028.com) designed to preview the carmaker’s future vehicle design through the display of a trio of new concept cars. A video presentation showcases a possible future, describing the different vehicle concepts that VW imagines could one day feature in production cars.

There are three separate concept vehicles – the one, ego and room – each of which are designed to fit into different segments. The one is a single passenger vehicle, the ego a sporty a two-seater and the room is designed for families.

Some of the future technologies include emissions free driving, traffic light systems, holographic interface systems, accident free driving, and autonomous modes.

These concepts are always cool, but frustrating. It seems that no matter how cool the tech is, unless it's a Mercedes S-class, the almighty price/profit genie always wins and we never see this stuff...

Unfortunately Gus not even the S class is above the whole price/profit genie war. Merc made the decision well over 10 years ago to build the S class cost effectively and drop the engineered like no other car in the world with no regard for cost attitude
