Video: Maybach Exelero high-speed run

Posted on Monday 30 April 2007

The Maybach Exelero, which debuted back in 2005 and was most recently seen in a Jay-Z rap video, is easily one of the most striking coupes to ever grace the stands of any car show in history. The super-coupe is actually a one-off design created by Maybach on behalf of Fulda Tyres, which uses the vehicle as a test bed for its next generation tyre designs. This video, which was picked up by Automobiles De Luxe, showcases the Exelero as it’s prepped for one of its high-speed runs at Italy’s Nardo test track.

This is one of the ugliest things I’ve ever seen on four wheels. That must be the reason why that rapper used it in his video - probably riding on shiny chrome 24s. And those two things together are more than reason enough why no self respecting pistonhead will ever sully his garage with this monstrosity.

What are you on? Try to appreciate the engineering and legacy of the maybach coupe of the 1930s. This is a one off tribute to a first class auto of years ago. Oh, but a self righteous dickhead like yourself wouldn’t know anything about that!
