Revealed at the 2008 Concorsa d’Eleganza Villa d’Este, the M1 Concept shows BMW can reinterpret its classics in a modern and daring way. The concept was created to mark the 30th anniversary of the original M1 supercar and was penned by the carmaker’s new design chief Adrian van Hooydonk.
Drawing inspiration from the production M1 (desgined by Giorgio Giugiaro) as well as the BMW Turbo Concept (designed by Paul Bracq), the new M1 Concept continues with the wedge profile and mid-engine design of its forebears.
Interesting features of the car include the twin logos at the rear, air vents in the bonnet and the louvres on the rear windscreen, as well as the black cutline dividing the roofline from the rear section of the body – all trade mark features from the original.
From side it looks like Ferrari Testarossa.
