With the press days for this week’s Geneva Motor Show approaching its end, attention now turns towards the upcoming New York Show falling at the end of this month. Toyota’s youth-oriented brand Scion has now released a teaser of one of its new concept cars planned for the show but details are being kept scarce.

All we know is that the car will be called the Hako Coupe and it will showcase a sporty interpretation of Scion’s trademark box design. The car was developed by the Tokyo Design Division as a global model but for now there are no plans to launch Scion outside of North America.

Interest in the Scion brand has tapered off following the release of a number of second generation models last year and officials now hope to create some of the excitement the brand enjoyed with the release of cars like the sporty tC. Unlike some of its previous concepts, the new Hako Coupe will eventually spawn a production model.
