Fluence_side.jpgRenault hasn’t released any details about the car but we can confirm that the striking two-door will be on the carmaker’s stand at next month’s Frankfurt Motor Show. The new concept will preview a production coupe variant of the recently launched Laguna that earlier reports suggest would arrive on the market roughly 12 months after the introduction of the sedan and estate models.

The coupe will form a new flagship for Renault with a range topping model borrowing its power source from Nissan’s 350Z. Other features for the new model should include an electric handbrake, remote engine starting, and xenon lights, lifted from the Laguna sedan, plus upgraded suspension, increased sound-proofing and a closer-ratio steering set-up.

In addition to the 3.5L Nissan V6, the new coupe will likely be available with a 2.0L petrol turbo as well as a new 3.0L diesel V6, according to CAR. Inside, there’ll be seating for four and buyers will be able to opt for either a six-speed auto or six-speed manual transmission.
