Industry cutbacks, especially in the areas of advertising and marketing, have taken more and more visible forms in the recent past as automakers chose to skip major shows including even the once prestigious Detroit Auto Show. In fact, some of the major brands that chose to skip an appearance at the Detroit event in recent years have included Ferrari, Rolls-Royce, Land Rover, Suzuki as well as Nissan and its upmarket Infiniti division.
