It’s taken them long enough, but Sony has finally released a car stereo that has Bluetooth integrated so you don’t need to connect aftermarket accessories to retrofit a handsfree car kit.

This allows the MEX-BT5000 to download up to 50 phone contacts and six speed-dial numbers from your phone. With the numbers downloaded drivers can browse the phonebook and place calls from the MEX-BT5000.

Calls placed from the MEX-BT5000 will be heard from the car speakers while an integrated microphone detects voices for a completely hands-free cellular phone experience. The integrated microphone is located in the faceplate and has noise and echo reduction features.

One cool feature is the ability to stream music from your mobile phone to the car kit, so you simply load music to your phone when you want to listen to it.
