  • Porsche 918 Spyder vs Lamborghini Diablo VT

The Lamborghini Diablo VT 6.0 came about in 2000, when Audi took over the company and wanted to update the Italian supercar. It was working on the Murcielago, but the Diablo still had some life in it. In the rear of the car sits a 6.0-liter V-12 engine that produces 550 horsepower and over 450 pound-feet of torque. That's pretty excellent considering the car weighs under 3,600 pounds and has all-wheel-drive. It's fast, to say the least. To say more, it can't hold a candle to the modern supercar of today. • Porsche 918 Spyder in the Australian Outback

Porsche has completed production of its 918 Spyder. It was—to put it mildly—one hell of a run. From the beginning, the car was a complete departure from the bareknuckle Carrera GT which preceded it. Electric motors at the front wheels. An army of computerized nannies. A seven-speed PDK dual-clutch transmission. Upon seeing the concept at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show, we wrote that some of the car's trick tech "was sure to prove difficult to render in production." But render it, Porsche did. On our first drive, we declared the 918 Spyder "utterly untouchable by the pantheon of cars...
