Oh, the things you find when doing just a little bit of digging. In this case, one family was stunned to find a brand new 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer buried in its backyard. Yes, you read that correctly, and it was even wrapped in a plastic tarp.

Local news affiliate KFOR in Oklahoma reports Freddie Green and his son Cody were adjusting a dirt bike jump in their backyard when Cody made the discovery. At first, he wasn't sure what it was, so he kept digging, but it became clear it was a vehicle after he reached the hood. His father immediately contacted the police as he feared a case of foul play may be at hand.

Thankfully, authorities cleared the 2003 Trailblazer and no remains were found inside—hardly a barn find, but interesting nonetheless. However, it's left everyone wondering why a tarp-covered Trailblazer was buried 15 years ago six feet under the ground.

The license plate remained legible and police were able to trace the 2003 Trailblazer back to the previous owner of the property before the Green family moved in. The former property owner reported the Trailblazer stolen the same year it was purchased in 2003. Now, police suspect insurance fraud. At this time, no charges have been brought against the former owner.
