Mercedes is in the process of relaunching the Maybach badge, only this time it's not a standalone brand. Set as a sub-brand within Mercedes-Benz, the badge represents the most luxurious models within the three-pointed star's showroom. The latest? An ultra-luxurious version of the S-Class Cabriolet.

Debuting recently at the 2016 Los Angeles auto show, the Mercedes-Maybach S650 Cabriolet is limited to just 300 units with only 75 of those pegged for the United States. That makes it one of the world's most exclusive droptops.

With a price tag rumored to be well in excess of $200,000, it had better be exclusive.

The rub? The Mercedes-Benz S-Class Cabriolet is already really luxurious, with some models already pushing $200,000. Do the addition of a V-12, and Maybach-exclusive woods, badging, wheels, and accent stitching make this car worthy of the Maybach badge?

That's the question we asked you in a recent Twitter poll.

By a slim margin, at 36 percent, the most respondents said absolutely, but 33 percent of you aren't so sure. A total of 23 percent said not a chance, while 8 percent aren't sure what a Maybach is. To that 8 percent we suggest you click here.

Whether we all think it's worthy of the badge is pretty much irrelevant because, with only 300 units being built, you can bet it's already sold out.
