Don't worry. We didn't get the invite to check out Pagani's new droptop version of its Huayra, either.

The Italian sports car builder held a very private event for some of its most important customers earlier this week ostensibly to inaugurate its new factory. But attendees were treated to an extra surprise: They were shown the new roadster version of the Huayra, a model not expected to be officially shown to the public or the media until the Paris Motor Show this fall.

CHECK OUT: Viper special editions sold out, Snakeskin Edition ACR added

Just 100 examples of the Huayra Roadster, as it is expected to be called, will be built. However, there's definitely more to come from Pagani since its new plant is said to be capable of building up to 300 vehicles annually.  The plant is located in an industrial sector of San Cesario sul Panaro, Italy, between the traditional supercar hotspots of Modena and Bologna.

Pagani's specialty is making improvements on its Huayra and then creating new limited edition models, so it seems feasible to us that additional roadster variants will follow once the initial 100 have been built and delivered. That said, Pagani is also willing to do the occasional one-off for an extra special customer, as we learned earlier this week when pictures of the Zonda MD surfaced online.
