Chevrolet is thought to be working on a mid-engine layout for its next-generation Corvette, and according to a report we’ll see the car at the 2018 Detroit Auto Show. The thinking is that by making the Corvette mid-engined, Chevy will be able to boost performance, prices and desirability.

Chinese electric car startup NextEV is working on a supercar that could debut as early as this year. The company has competed quite successfully in the Formula E Championship and recently announced it was investing in a plant for high-performance electric motors.

Swedish design skunk works Zolland Design has unveiled a retro conversion for the fifth-generation Mercedes-Benz SL. The conversion turns the car into something resembling the popular “Pagoda” SL of the 1960s.
