Late last year, Lamborghini launched a telemetry system that with the aid of an app can help you improve your lap times.

The system is designed for the Aventador and Huracán models and is called Track and Play. It relies on an app installed on your smartphone plus a special control unit within the cars. This control unit is an available option and can be installed at any Lamborghini dealership or service center.

The control unit sends information from the car directly to the smartphone. Using the app, you can then get accurately measured lap times calculated using GPS data, as well as an assortment of vehicle data such as braking and throttle percentages, g sensor readings and video footage. The coolest feature is the pre-loaded race track data where a ghost mode shows how you compare to the pros.

Here we see the driver of an Aventador LP 750-4 SuperVeloce using the Track and Play system at Italy’s Imola.
