The McLaren P1 is a marvel of modern engineering. Still, not everything out there is perfect and the P1 is proof of this. A batch of the cars were just hit with a recall notice. The reason? A secondary hood latch could fail, which could lead to the inadvertent opening of the hood if the primary latch were accidentally engaged. That would be an especially bad situation if the car was moving at the P1's 220-mph top speed.

The recall affects cars built between March 1st, 2013 through October 31st, 2015. That's a total of 122 potentially hood-afflicted McLaren P1s. McLaren, of course, will fix the issue free of charge. The recall is expected to begin this month, so rest easy P1 owners. In the meantime, you'll just have to get by with one of the other 15 cars you own.

Actually, maybe just take the jet today instead...
