It never ceases to amaze us how often cars are struck by trains. It seems like a pretty simple thing to avoid but regular readers will know of a few previous cases. Fortunately, these types of accidents rarely involve any injuries.

This video from YouTube channel JukinVideo shows just this type of accident. It happened early Sunday morning in Orlando, Florida and involved a late model Honda Civic Coupe that somehow got stuck on train tracks. The owner abandons the car moments before it gets hit by a freight train, but incredibly it’s later shown to still be capable of running.

Local resident Aaron Fechter told the Orlando Sentinel that cars have become stuck on this particular stretch of road about half a dozen times over the past two decades that he’s live there. He said the junction can be a bit confusing and that people mistakenly turn onto the actual tracks instead of an adjacent road.
