A unique Porsche 918 Spyder built to an almost identical spec to the car used to set the 6:57 production car Nürburgring lap record in late 2013 is up for sale, and boy is it a stunner. The car is listed at Californian dealership CNC Motors and has just 1,856 miles on the clock. No price is mentioned, but we’re sure you know the old adage about asking for the price and all that…

What makes this 918 Spyder just a little extra special is that it was ordered without any paint, meaning its carbon fiber panels were left completely bare. But to protect the surfaces, a matte black wrap has been installed. Even so, roughly 14 pounds has been saved compared to a painted version.

On top of that, lightweight seats made from Nomex have been installed and help save an additional 8 lb compared to the standard units. And then there’s the included Weissach package which lobs off around 99 lb thanks to numerous weight-saving mods. Specific measures include the addition of magnesium wheels, a lighter brake design, ceramic wheel bearings, and titanium bolts for the chassis.

As a special touch, this car has a little provenance as American racing legend Hurley Haywood has verified its performance.
