Cadillac is taking a leaf out of BMW’s book by launching special versions of its high-performance V-Series models decked out in matte finish paint. The cars are part of a collection known as the Crystal White Frost Edition and are being offered for the 2016 model year.

There are Crystal White Frost Edition versions of the ATS-V Coupe, ATS-V Sedan and CTS-V, but production numbers are being capped at just 99 units all up: 29 CTS-V sedans, 39 ATS-V Coupes and 31 ATS-V Sedans.

Just like the matte finish paint used by rivals, the paint on Cadillac’s Crystal White Frost Edition cars require special attention for cleaning. Rub them too hard and they’ll develop a shiny finish just like regular paint. Also, things like bird droppings and tree sap usually need to be cleaned straight away or they can have an effect on the paint.

Beyond the paint, the cars also get loaded with some extras as standard such as select V-Series wheels plus the Carbon Fiber and Luxury packages normally offered on the V-Series cars.

The Crystal White Frost Edition vehicles will begin arriving at select Cadillac dealers by the end of October, and as mentioned above production numbers will be low. The 2016 Cadillac ATS-V Sedan Crystal White Frost Edition starts at $71,460, while the coupe will set you back $73,660. The 2016 Cadillac CTS-V Crystal White Frost Edition starts at $94,990. All prices include destination.
