HSV, short for Holden Special Vehicles, has been building fast four-doors for the past three decades, the huge majority of them based on the Holden Commodore range of sedans, wagons and utes. The company’s latest offerings are now available with General Motors Company’s [NYSE:GM] supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8. This ute model is the R8 LSA, and in addition to being very practical it has a mighty 536 horsepower directed to its rear wheels.
2016 Rezvani Beast Speedster
This week we were fortunate enough to test drive the Rezvani Beast. The car we tested was the latest Beast Speedster, which has 300 horsepower. The Beast has 500 hp and there are also plans for a Beast X with as much as 700 hp. What’s it like? You’ll have to read our first drive report (there's a video, too).
2016 Mercedes-Benz G Class
Another vehicle we tested was the 2016 Mercedes-Benz G-Class. The exterior may not have changed, but in addition to a new V-8 in the base G550 there is also a new suspension setup together with a more sensitive stability control system, plus some new interior and exterior options.
Halcón SuperSport Falcarto, 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show
A company in Germany by the name of Halcón (that’s Spanish for “falcon” in case you were wondering) has come out with a new sports car dubbed the Falcarto. It made its debut last week in Frankfurt, which, incidentally, is where Halcón is based.

Maserati’s long-awaited Levante SUV has finally been spotted sporting the body that’s destined for production. It’s heavily camouflaged, but we can already see that the Levante will be a very sleek and sporty crossover SUV.
2017 Audi A4
This week, we also took a quick spin in the all-new Audi A4, due to go on sale early next year. Though the styling may be evolutionary, there’s a brand new platform with new engines and technology within.
Aluminum-Bodied 2017 Ford F-Series Super Duty Rolls In
This week also saw the Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] unveil its next-generation F-Series Super Duty range. Like the smaller F-150, these big boys are now dressed in aluminum-alloy bodies. Unfortunately, they still stick with six-speed autos, but we hear that a 10-speeder is on the way soon.
Kahn Design Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6 Double Cab Pickup concept
This brute is the Land Rover Defender-based Flying Huntsman 110 WB 6x6 Double Cab Pickup from A. Kahn Design. It only costs around $150k, which is bargain when you consider Mercedes’ six-wheeler cost more than three times that figure. Just 20 will be built each year.
