Fire up the double-decker buses! Wipe off the taxis! Wake up the Queen! The London Motor Show is back.

What was formally known as the British International Motor Show is being revived and it will light up London in 2016. This auto show ran for many years before it buggered off for good in 2008. Starting in 1903, the British International Motor Show occurred every other year in London. In 1937, the show was held at Earl's Court and it was done this way all the way through 1976. From that time forward you'd have to head to Birmingham to catch the latest and greatest the industry had to offer.

Over the years, a number of important or interesting automotive introductions were showcased at this show. From the Jensen FF to the Lotus Esprit and the Jaguar XJ220, this was a show that certainly offered up its fair share of hits. Still, the economy went south in the mid-to-late 2000's and it took this show with it.

It's ready to return it seems, and if you're interested in attending you'll need to clear calendar space in the month of May. The show will run from May 5th through the 8th in 2016.
