Corvette chief engineer Tadge Juechter was answering questions posed to him by members of the Corvette Forum recently. One user looked to set Juechter up with a question that was a bit loaded. The Corvette main man, however, delivered a pretty perfect answer. It was the end of his answer though that really let a bit of surprise information slip out: the latest Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has managed to make a full, clean run of the Nürburgring.

It's been recorded. The press release is coming out soon, and the Z06 will pump out a time that will probably push it up near the best of the production vehicle records.

Now, the sad part is that we drew you in with that headline... and the time hasn't been announced. So for now let's speculate shall we? Sound off below with a potential C7 Z06 'Ring time.

The record for production cars is still the 6:57 set by the Porsche 918 Spyder. The Aventador SuperVeloce recently ran a 6:59.73 and the Nissan GT-R NISMO has previously set a time of 7:08.679. Of course, these all featured all-wheel drive. When it comes to rear-wheel-drive cars, the previous-generation Dodge Viper ACR is still the king with its 7:12.13.

Our guess for the Z06? A tick under 7:15.00.
