Lamborghini has released a teaser video for a new model debuting at next week’s 2015 Frankfurt Auto Show. We can’t see or even hear the car in the short clip but the cryptic message “The sky will never be the same” gives away its identity. The new model is the Huracán LP 610-4 Spyder, the convertible version of the Huracán supercar that rocketed into the world last year.

There isn’t expected to be many surprises with the Huracán Spyder. Expect the roof to be an automated soft-top similar to the one on the previous Gallardo Spyder. The drivetrain, meanwhile, will be identical to the one in the Huracán, which means a 5.2-liter V-10 paired with a seven-speed dual-clutch transmission and spinning all four wheels. Peak output should remain capped at 601 horsepower and 413 pound-feet of torque.

As we saw with the previous Gallardo, Lamborghini will likely add even more members to the Huracán family as we get further along in the car’s life cycle. We’ve already seen racing versions designed for the Super Trofeo series and various GT3-spec competitions, and at some point we’re likely to see a hardcore version similar to the Gallardo Superleggera. Another possibility is a rear-wheel-drive model along the lines of the Gallardo Balboni.

Stay tuned for the Huracán Spyder’s debut at the Frankfurt Auto Show, which opens its doors to the media on Tuesday, September 15. For more from the show, head to our dedicated hub.
