Following the pair of modified 2015 F-150 pickup trucks it unveiled ahead of the 2014 SEMA show, the Ford Motor Company [NYSE:F] is previewing two 2015 Mustang show cars.

The Blue Oval is hoping to introduce the redesigned pony car to the aftermarket in a big way, with a "stampede" of modified Mustangs beginning with these cars from Petty's Garage and Galpin Auto Sports (GAS).

Not surprisingly, the Petty's Garage Mustang is decked out in a bright shade of blue reminiscent of Richard "The King" Petty's NASCAR racers. It's contrasted by a black top and the two-tone scheme is echoed by custom black wheels with blue lips. Under the hood is a Roush supercharged V-8.

After SEMA, the Petty's Garage car will be auctioned off by Barrett-Jackson with proceeds going to Victory Junction Gang Camp, a summer camp for chronically ill children started by the Petty family.

In contrast to the bright blue Petty Mustang, Galpin's creation looks positively sinister in its gold-flecked black paint. That--along with gold wheels and other accents--signifies the 50th anniversary of the Mustang. There's even a gold-plated Whipple supercharger, which boosts output from the 5.0-liter Coyota V-8 to 725 horsepower.

The GAS Mustang also features a custom front fascia and new headlights with LED turn signals that blink in sequence, just like on the taillights. Rounding out the aesthetic changes are a carbon fiber front splitter and rocker panels, along a more aggressive rear diffuser.

Both of these cars may be V-8s, but Ford expects the new-for-2015 2.3-liter turbocharged EcoBoost four-cylinder engine to attract plenty of attention from tuners as well.

We'll have to wait until the doors open in Las Vegas to see what those cars look like. The 2014 SEMA show runs November 4-7, and you can catch up on the latest updates at our dedicated hub.
