The Dodge Challenger Drag Pak gets its first exposure to the public, Mercedes-AMG’s new GT sports car nears its official unveiling, and the 2016 Volvo XC90 has been unveiled in Sweden. It’s The Week In Reverse, right here at Motor Authority.

The Hellcat isn’t the only Challenger for some serious performance cred. In fact, if you’re really serious about hitting the strip, you should look no farther than the 2015 Dodge Challenger Drag Pak. Powered by a 426 cubic inch HEMI V-8 driving the rear wheels through an aluminum driveshaft and 727 automatic transmission with integral line lock, it’s a serious-business drag car soon to be eligible for NHRA competition.

Due for its official global debut September 9, the Mercedes-AMG GT is finally almost here. What will it mean for the sports car segment? It may well mean a legitimate competitor to the Porsche 911, and that’s something any enthusiast can love, whether they’re AMG fans or not.

Ever wanted to own a vintage Toyota Land Cruiser? You’re not alone. But soon, you may be able to do just that—with a twist. Toyota is planning a brand-new re-issue of the 1980s 70-series Land Cruiser, to be built over the course of a single year, to celebrate the model’s 30th anniversary. Sadly for those of us in America, it’s planned for a Japan-only release.

The 2016 Volvo XC90 is here, and while it’s not a stunner, it’s handsome enough, and it brings a host of new design and features, including the brand’s impressive Sensus Connect infotainment system, to the market. Can the XC90 compete on equal footing with segment stalwarts like the BMW X5 and Audi Q7? We’ll have to drive it to find out.

And in the world of automotive marketing, Land Rover has found a match seemingly made in brand heaven: Bear Grylls. The adventurer, survivalist, and TV host has made a name for himself embarking on some truly impressive (and insane) solo adventures, so the fit for Land Rover’s go-anywhere attitude is just about perfect. Grylls’ life as a Land Rover ambassador begins with the upcoming Discovery Sport, due to make its debut on September 3.
