Order a 2015 Lexus RC F in bright metallic orange, and at least five random individuals on the streets of the U.K. will be happy--as that color is known as Solar Flare, and those five people helped name it from hundreds of other suggestions.

The Lexus U.K. Facebook page posed the question earlier this month, having released pictures of the new 2015 RC F high-performance coupe in the vivid orange shade. Hundreds of people suggested colors but Solar Flare won out, the same name suggested by Lexus Facebook page users Peter Robert Shaumburg Fodor, Paul Britt, Joe Ettwein, Matt Frenchy and Krisstian Allen.

"We were impressed by the huge response and the creativity shown by our Facebook fans," explained Richard Balshaw, Lexus Director "Solar Flare was chosen as we think it captures the power and excitement of the RC F, as well as the impact of the paint finish itself." It should match the impact of the car too, which uses a 5.0-liter V-8 to develop more than 450 horsepower and 383 pound-feet of torque. Top speed should clear the 170 mph mark, while Lexus suggests acceleration should outpace the old IS F sedan.

Despite the high-performance tech, the engine can also switch from an Otto to an Atkinson combustion cycle at a cruise, helping save at least a little fuel. Lightweight carbon fiber is used throughout, while an eight-speed automatic transmission supplies power to the wheels and a torque-vectoring differential helps shove you out of turns. The RC F also features an active rear wing, raising and lowering as the situation demands.

Sales of the RC F in the U.S. should start later this year or in early 2015.
