The Ferrari F40 may be the most hardcore, utterly bonkers supercar ever. Stripped down, minimalist, and without any regard for things like driver safety nets or passenger comfort, it’s a purified, surgical machine. And it’s utterly brilliant.
It’s even better when it’s being thrashed within an inch of the lives of everyone within eyeshot.
The F40 was, of course, the last vehicle personally greenlighted by Enzo Ferrari himself, and the successor to the incredible 288 GTO. Powered by a 471-horsepower 90-degree 3.0-liter V-8 that sings, screams, and barks, the F40 also weighs about 1,000 pounds less than a modern 911. Mental.
Though this video is just over a minute long, it’s an intense, focused minute of awesome. Turn up the volume and get busy.
