Driving as part of a four-car McLaren F1 caravan, which included actor and famed F1 owner Rowan Atkinson, the driver of the white-and-red F1 lost control for “reasons still unknown,” reports the Italian La Nazionale.

The accident occurred on the road between Saline di Voletrra and Pomarance as the four F1s were apparently headed somewhere for a meet. The occupants of the car were airlifted to a nearby hospital.

The crashed F1 appears to be essentially destroyed, with the roof caved in and the side of the tub crushed by the tree. It’s not yet clear whether the car may be saved by extensive reconstruction, or if the rest of the McLaren F1s in the world just got a little bit rarer. Note, it was only in 2011 that Rowan Atkinson crashed his own F1. Fortunately for him the car was repairable.
