While it might seem like a pretty safe environment, dynos pack a lot of hidden danger. From roasting trunk occupants with flames to blowing engines to shredding tires, the simple task of measuring your car's horsepower can go sideways in a hurry.

Case in point: This turbo wrong-wheel drive drag car obviously has the stuff for running hard on the straight strip, but its tires just aren't up to the power outputs on this dyno run.

Things go from awesome to awful in a heartbeat as the tire suddenly lets go, then starts smashing its carcass against everything in close proximity, simultaneously causing the other drive wheel to torque hard to the right and start turning its own tread into smoke.

We haven't been able to find any follow-up to the video, but we hope the owner was able to put it back to proper running condition and finally get his (likely massive) horsepower figure without too massive a repair bill.
