If you're thinking about speeding somewhere in the West Midlands area of the U.K., you might want to think again. Unless you have something that can hit speeds over 207 mph, you don't have much of a chance. That is, of course, if the departments newest fleet acquisition has its sights set on your taillights. The police department there have acquired a McLaren 12C, and they plan on putting the car to good use.

Of course, good use actually means reaching out to members of the community and attending all sorts of events to spread a message of attentive and safe motoring. The department hopes to reach the hearts and minds of younger enthusiasts, and create a dialogue of driving safety... while gawking at a machine capable of decimating nearly every speed limit on the planet in just a few seconds.

Still, the West Midlands Police Department has a long way to go if it wants to keep pace with the Dubai law enforcement crew. The Dubai police already have the 12C. They also have an Aventador, a GT-R, a Ferrari FF, and even an Aston Martin One-77. Now that is a fleet of cars... and it's only part of a longer list that also includes a Bugatti Veyron.

For those folks worried that the West Midlands Police Department just used tax payer funds to purchase a toy, fear not. The vehicle was donated for use by a local supercar dealer.
