Subaru Bringing Levorg STI Concept To 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon

Follow Viknesh

At the recent 2013 Tokyo Motor Show, Subaru rolled out a new performance wagon concept called the Levorg, which the automaker confirmed will reach showrooms, though so far only the Japanese market has been mentioned.

The Levorg is about as big as you’d expect a Legacy/Outback wagon to be, and most expect a similar car to be launched next year as the 2015 model of those vehicles.

Still missing is any replacement for the WRX hatchback, which was noticeably absent during the launch of the latest 2015 WRX.

We should have more details soon, as Subaru plans to unveil a handful of new Levorg concepts at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon next month. There will in fact be five different Levorg concepts, each enhanced by either Subaru, STI or one of three performance parts suppliers.

The concept lineup will include Subaru’s own Levorg Premium Sports, a Levorg STI Performance, a Levorg Corazon Sportier, a Levorg Syms and finally a Levorg Prova.

Of most interest to performance fans is the Levorg STI Performance concept. STI, of course, is Subaru’s in-house performance tuner and for the Levorg the company has added a host of upgrades including a unique flexible tower bar and rear spoiler.

Also present on Subaru’s stand at the 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon will be the BRZ tS, a yet-to-be-revealed race car for the Nürburgring 24 Hours endurance race, and the 2014 Subaru BRZ GT300 Super GT racer. Subaru also plans to use the upcoming event to announce its 2014 motorsport program.

The 2014 Tokyo Auto Salon tuning fest will run from January 10 to 12 at the Makuhari Messe in Tokyo’s Chiba prefecture. For our complete coverage of the event, head to our dedicated hub.
