Teased yesterday, the collaboration between McLaren and Forza Motorsport 5 to create a flipbook-style animation from a series of still images strung around the perimeter of a race track, filmed from an MP4-12C has come to life. This is Forza FilmSpeed.
We can't really imagine a more impractical way to put together a clip of in-game action from Forza 5, but we're not complaining. The end result is brilliant, and ties the real world into the game world in a new and creative way.
Just watching the still panels magically turn into animated video scenes as the MP4-12C's speed hits the right mark--as the scenery slides by in the back ground--creates an unusual sense of speed and stasis. The combination is mesmerizing.
