BMW finally announced the long awaited i8 plug-in hybrid sports coupe at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. Priced from $135,925, the new coupe will be arriving in U.S. showrooms sometime next spring with the ability to run on electric-only power for up to 22 miles.

Mercedes-Benz has put the final nail in the CL-Class' coffin with the introduction of the Concept S-Class Coupe. While shown as a concept, it's really a thinly veiled look at the production S-Class Coupe that will go on sale next year. Mercedes has made a point of emphasizing its high-tech abilities with the introduction of both the new S-Class and the Concept S-Class Coupe.

The production version of the Porsche 918 Spyder also made its debut at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. With 887 horsepower and 940 pound-feet of torque, the new supercar from Porsche has already set a new production car lap record at the Nürburgring. Priced from $845,000, the 918 Spyder is on sale with deliveries beginning next year.
