Ferrari’s hardcore 458 Italia has been revealed as the new 458 Speciale. The car is outmatched by only the LaFerrari and F12 Berlinetta in Ferrari’s road car lineup and should prove quite the challenge for McLaren’s MP4-12C and Lamborghini’s upcoming Gallardo successor.

Mercedes-Benz today revealed its S500 Plug-In Hybrid. The vehicle is able to accelerate to 62 mph from rest in just 5.5 seconds yet it can also return gas mileage higher than 70 mpg.

Volkswagen’s new Golf R based on its seventh-generation Golf hatchback is set to debut next month at the 2013 Frankfurt Auto Show. Today we received the first official photos and details for the car.
