A new SUV is in development at Mercedes-Benz, and its working title is MLC. Due in 2015 as a 2016 model, the MLC is aimed at the BMW X6 and its four-door-coupe-UV ilk.

Porsche's own smaller crossover/SUV is on its way, too: the 2014 Macan. Spied again in testing, this time essentially undisguised, the Macan promises to add a level of verve and performance not currently found in the segment.

McLaren and Honda may be open to a partnership for road-going cars. The duo already has some racing tie-ups, but a road car collaboration between the two is much more intriguing for those of us who aren't F1 pilots.

You'll find all of this and more in today's car news headlines from around the High Gear Media network, right here at Motor Authority.
