Due in showrooms next spring, the 2014 BMW i3 electric car has been priced from $42,275, including a $925 destination charge. That price doesn't include federal or state incentives which will bring the price down significantly. A more expensive model with a gasoline range-extender will be available which will increase the i3's range by approximately 80 miles to a total of 180 miles.

The next-generation Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution could be a whole new breed for the storied nameplate. Rumors are spreading that it could go upmarket and become a 500-horsepower Nissan GT-R competitor with a sophisticated plug-in hybrid powertrain. It could use two electric motors and a turbocharged four-cylinder engine to send power to all four wheels.
