Establishing a new supercar brand from scratch is no easy task; if you’re not in agreement just take a look at all the stillborn concepts out there.

But every once in a while, hardworking and passionate entrepreneurs succeed and for their efforts we have brand likes Bugatti, Ferrari and Lamborghini to enjoy.

More recently a new crop of supercar startups have emerged, and while many of them still fail, a few, such as Pagani and Koenigsegg, have succeeded.

The focus of this video is Sweden's Koenigsegg, which in 2013 is celebrating ten years of production. It’s hard to believe that Koenigsegg’s first model built and delivered to a customer, the CC8S, was only built 10 years ago, simply because so much has happened in between.

Since then, Koenigsegg has launched a handful of new models, broke a couple of world records and is now pioneering new automotive technology.  On top of all that, Koenigsegg also managed to build and sell 100 supercars.

A hundred cars may not seem like a lot, especially when you consider that Koenigsegg has been around since 1994 (there were eight years of grueling development until the first car was launched), but the number is testament to the bespoke nature of each of the rolling works of art that emerge from the halls of Koenigsegg's plant in Ängelholm, Sweden.

If you want to learn more about Koenigsegg, be sure to watch the video in full above. It features the company’s founder, Christian von Koenigsegg, telling the story of the brand and where it is headed.
