German engineers take their job very seriously, but Germans are also renown for embracing the Christmas season with gusto. That said, development and testing of the SLS AMG GT3 must go on, since the competition certainly won’t be taking any time off around the holidays if it means slower lap times in the coming season.

German engineers are also known for their ingenuity and resourcefulness, so we really don’t have a hard time believing this Christmas-themed video from AMG was inspired by actual events, if not entirely based on them.

We can imagine the thermodynamic calculations being tasked to a junior member of the Mercedes-Benz engineering staff, while more senior members worked on the chemistry aspect of the problem. Excluding the driver, of course, we’re fairly certain that large quantities of Gluhwein and schnapps were involved, too.

We don’t recommend that you try this at home, but if you do, remember to mind your lateral acceleration in the corners. Log your data carefully, too, since that's the cornerstone of any valid scientific experiment, and if you manage to achieve success, be sure to pass the recipe along to us.
