UPDATE: The 2014 Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG Black Series has been revealed. Click here for all the details.

While Mercedes' latest take on the gullwing super sports car theme, the SLS AMG, leaves something to be desired in several areas, there's every chance the Black Series will remedy most of them. Here, we see the first teaser from the company.

While Mercedes-AMG hasn't confirmed this is, in fact, the SLS AMG Black Series, we're pretty sure that's what we're looking at. And in less than 24 hours, the full car will be revealed, according to the company's Facebook page.

So what should you expect of the 2014 SLS AMG Black Series? As we've documented in our spy shot coverage, there's likely to be more power--perhaps as much as 650 horses--under that long hood, probably provided by a hot version of the 6.2-liter V-8 in the standard SLS AMG and GT.

Other tweaks for the Black Series will include an upgraded suspension, wider body work, a large rear wing, and new wheels and tires--likely enlarged to handle the additional pace.

Despite being badged a 2014 model, and getting an unveiling in 2012, we expect the SLS AMG Black Series to enter limited production (typical of all of AMG's Black Series offerings) sometime in 2013. Look for a complete unveiling and live images at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show at the end of this month.
