Even before we gear up for SEMA and the Los Angeles Auto Show, automakers are beginning to already focus on the Detroit Auto Show. Chevrolet revealed the new 2014 Corvette C7's engine, which is called the LT1, while we spied the C7 Corvette Convertible undergoing testing. Chevrolet also revealed the Malibu Turbo Performance before its debut at the SEMA show next week.
A Honda executive confirmed the production model of the new 2015 Acura NSX that will make its debut at the Detroit Auto Show, and though we initially thought some patent renderings of the final car had leaked, it turns out that these were just of the original 2012 Detroit Auto Show concept.
We also spied the 2013 Jaguar XFR-S testing on the Nürburgring with a new (and quite large) rear wing. We're expecting this beauty to debut next month at the L.A. Auto Show.
So, before you power down your computer for the weekend, be sure to check out our top photos of the week below, and remember to come back next week for more, and of course you can always bookmark our Top Photos of the Week page, where we will be adding to our collection each week.
First up is the new LT1 V-8 engine that will power the upcoming 2014 Chevrolet Corvette (C7). It displaces 6.2 liters, features cylinder deactivation technology and will produce at least 450 horsepower in the base 'Vette.
Next we have what we thought to be a leaked patent for the production version of the 2015 Acura NSX. It turns out it was just a patent drawing for the original 2012 Detroit Auto Show NSX concept.
These spy shots prove 2014 Chevrolet Corvette (C7) is coming, and now it looks like the convertible model might be revealed at the same time as the coupe.
We spied the 2013 Jaguar XFR-S testing on the 'Ring while sporting a rather large new rear wing. Got down force?
Chevrolet is bringing this Malibu Turbo Performance Concept to the SEMA show next week. We sort of wish the production Malibu Turbo looked this good.
