Audi has taken the wraps off the convertible version of its RS 5 brute. Peak output remains at 450 horsepower, though with a reinforced body adding extra weight, the 0-60 mph time for the RS 5 Cabrio is a few tenths of a second off the pace of the coupe.

The 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show is only a couple of months away, and in the lead up to the event the theme of this year’s Design Challenge has been announced. The theme is “Highway Patrol Vehicle - 2025” and the aim for designers is to come up with an idea for tomorrow’s police cruiser.

McLaren has confirmed it’s bringing a new supercar to the 2012 Paris Auto Show this month, and to get us all excited has released a single teaser image. Is it the long-awaited F1 successor?
