We’re starting to wonder if reigning Formula 1 World Champion Sebastian Vettel is regretting signing on to be Infiniti’s brand ambassador. After starring in a short martial arts battle alongside Chinese actress Celina Jade, Vettel has now played the character of a “modern day James Dean” in the music video for the song Watch Me Work by Grammy-winner, and Jay-Z protégé, Melanie Fiona.

The clip was filmed on a set in New Jersey back in June, where Vettel also helped promote a future F1 race for the state. Set in downtown New York, the music video shows Vettel emerging from a truck container driving a red Infiniti G37 convertible to an enormous warehouse space to help set up some music equipment for Fiona.

The key role is Vettel’s part in Infiniti’s new Inspired Performance campaign, which sees the German youngster and his Red Bull Racing teammate Mark Webber swapping roles with other “inspired performers” picked by Infiniti.

Commenting on the video, Sebastian Vettel said, “It was a great experience to shoot a music video, and certainly very different to what I’m used to. But music is without question an inspiration to many and I’m very proud to have been part of this. I think the lyrics are quite fitting to what we can all do if we put our mind to it.”

Tell us what you think. Is this a good move for the F1 ace?
