If you’re looking for a fast family hauler, there are plenty of sedans and crossovers that serve up a surprising amount of performance with their versatility. If your tastes run towards wagons, particularly large wagons, your choices are a bit limited.

For those of us on this side of the pond, only the Cadillac CTS-V Sport Wagon comes to mind, although buyers on the other side of the Atlantic have a few options from manufacturers like Audi and BMW. There’s a new entry coming from Mercedes-Benz, too, but (sadly) its distribution will be limited to Europe as well.

We’ve already filled in many of the blanks on the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake, including the fact that it will come packing as much as 557 horsepower (in Special Edition 1 trim) from its twin-turbo 5.5-liter V-8.

You already know that it comes with AMG’s Speedshift seven-speed automatic gearbox, AMG’s E-Select Drive chassis tuning and that carbon ceramic brakes are an available option. Carbon fiber aero bits are in the option catalog, too, as is a rear axle differential lock.

You even know that the uber-schnell grocery-getter is set to hit European Mercedes-Benz dealers this October, at a yet-to-be-named-but-probably-stratospheric price. All that’s left, then, is to feed you some nicely filmed CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake footage, so here it is.
