While beating a cargo van in a cops-and-robbers chase isn't really anything to crow about, Mercedes nonetheless appears to be quite proud of the feat in this oddly scripted, but weirdly interesting video.

Essentially an extended commercial for the 2013 GL Class's various features and technologies, the chase vid still manages to be more than just a marketing exercise, despite the cheesy action.

For us, the video is at the least another great chance to see the much-improved, better-looking GL Class in action, rather than sitting under studio lights looking rather bored.

    Not that it really matters, but the black van is a GMC Savana, not a Ford Econoline. http://www.gmc.com/savana-cargo-van.html

    Good eye, Dan. On closer inspection, it does appear to be a Savana--though even then, rather modified, particularly at the grille and front end. Sorry for the snap misidentification, and thanks for the correction!

    Did Mercedes Benz get some tech from Nissan's Infiniti QX? The 360 monitor view and the special suspension thing seem to be from the QX.
