Porsche 911 With Chevy LS7 V-8? Yes, Please: Video

Follow Nelson

Heresy it may be, but we don't care. Not even a little bit. This (apparently Southern) gentleman with an LS7-powered 911 Carrera is our newest hero.

As Hooniverse (via VWVortex's The Car Lounge) points out, the LS7 is not only more powerful and more American than the Porsche flat-six it replaced, it's also lighter. And it sounds fantastic.

Check out the video for yourself--though you'll be as disappointed as we were that the car doesn't translate all of this awesome into violent, sudden motion.

  3. Are yoU sure the LS7 was lighter than the original flat six in this 964... Can't imagine a water cooled motor weighing less than an air cooled motor... If so, then that's amazing tech on gm's part
