Banks Power twin-turbo Pikes Peak car

The Pikes Peak International Hill Climb is gearing up for action, running the gamut from Monster Tajima's electric bid for the win to privateer efforts like that of our friend Jeremy Foley and co-driver Yuri Kouznetsov with Evolution Dynamics to the insanely overpowered buggy you see here.

The 1,307-horsepower, 1,206 pound-feet of torque beast in this video is from the brain trust at Banks Power, and it's set to run the Unlimited Class with Paul Dallenbach at the wheel, against some of the fastest drivers and cars in the world. It certainly looks ready.

You may recall the monster, Known as the Dallenbach Special, from our coverage last year. On board is a special military-derived altitude compensator, which allows infinitely variable boost levels to keep the car running strong as it approaches the 14,110-foot summit.
