Infineon Raceway, once known as Sears Point, and located near Sonoma, California, is no longer Infineon Raceway as of today, June 1, 2012.

No official name has been chosen to take Infineon's place--likely meaning it has no title sponsor at the moment. Instead, the track and facility will simply go by its place-name: Sonoma.

Along with the name change comes a domain change: the track's new site is now at RaceSonoma.com.

Steve Page, president and general manager of the track, said in a release today that a nwe name, with a new logo, promotions, and merchandise, will be announced before the end of the year.

Page also said the name change--the end of a 10-year naming rights deal with Infineon Technologies--will have no impact on any of the track's activities or scheduled races and events--though the Infineon name and logo will be scrubbed from all banners, advertising, and promotional material.
